PARADOX: HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR Festival Cancellation Explained

August 11, 2008

Long-running German metallers PARADOX have issued the following update:

"After [guitarist/vocalist Charly Steinhauer was diagnosed with] an abdominal hernia, this year's Headbangers Open Air had to be cancelled. Sorry to all fans! PARADOX will play Headbangers Open Air 2009! In the meanwhile, a special hernia bandage was created which will make the next gigs in Norway and Milano possible. The operation is scheduled for October.

"PARADOX will record the next album 2009. The first songs are named 'Rise In Rank', 'Dream Hero' and 'Suburban Terror Squad'. There will be enough material for die-hard, old-school fans on the next CD.

"Charly says this one will be more aggresive than [the last PARADOX album] 'Electrify' and definitely without ballad-esque sounds. The cover will once again be drawn by genius Claudio Bergamin.

"PARADOX are planning to re-record one or two classic '80s songs from 'Product Of Imagination' or 'Heresy'."

Metalzone.gr conducted an interview with PARADOX members Charly Steinhauer (vocals, guitar),Kai Pasemann (guitar),Olly Keller (bass) and Roland Jahoda (drums) prior to the German band's January 12, 2008 concert at the Deutsche Assault Festival in Athens, Greece. They talk about their new album, "Electrify", their future plans, their new lineup and their feeling on today's metal scene. They also talk about the music they listen to, their influences, and what inspires them to write music.
